Safety Tips

Important: Please read for Best Results

  1. Always leave a can on the gun.
This will assure that no moisture will enter the system and clog up the gun.

  2. Shake the can well.
Shaking the can will mix the propellant and resin for a better cell structure.

  3. The can temperature should be over 60 degrees farenheit.
This will assure optimum performance and highest volume.  In cold temperature, warm the can before foaming.

  4. Mist the surface with water before foaming.
Pur Fill is a moisture curing foam.  This water mist will assure complete cross-section curing.

  5. Tighten the set screw when you have finished foaming.
This will eliminate accidental misfiring if the trigger gets bumped.

  6. Do not flush solvent cleaner through the gun.
Solvent cleaner will break down the foam to resin and coat the inside of the gun.  The best maintenance is to ALWAYS LEAVE A CAN ON THE GUN

Please train everyone that uses the system.  If a can is left off of the gun for more than 45 minutes, there will be damage to the gun.

SAFETY EQUIPMENT:

It is now a requirement that proper safety equipment (respirator, suit, goggles and gloves) be worn when applying spray foam insulation products.

Terms of Use Agreement:

I understand that all Todol Foam and related products are intended for PROFESSIONAL USE ONLY.

When applying foam always consult the product MSDS, wear proper personal protective equipment as recommended by the manufacturer, ensure good ventilation during application, and make sure the building being sprayed is vacated during application and for a period of time following installation. For additional information on health and safety issues related to spray foam, visit www.spraypolyurethane.org.

Todol Foam products contain diisocyanate. This chemical may cause sensitization by inhalation and/or direct skin contact and can be an irritant to the eyes, nose and throat. Sensitization may become apparent through coughing, pulmonary secretions, chest pain, breathing difficulty and/or asthma. For these reasons, when using two component polyurethane spray foams we recommend following or participating in a respiratory program.

All Todol Foam two-component polyurethane spray foams should always be used in conjunction with a certified respirator program in addition to safety glasses or goggles, nitrile gloves, and clothing that protects from skin exposure. Required respirators must be NIOSH approved and medical evaluation and training must be attained before use. I have read the Handi-brand Product Stewardship guidelines and understand the hazards and proper safety, handling, and personal protective equipment requirements associated with the use of the product.
